Chuck Schuldiner Was Not "The Father of Death Metal"

After 1990, Chuck changed his logo and lyrical content into a less shocking, more acceptable form.  Upon his success, would spout his liberal/tolerant political and religious dogma at every turn, so he would not offend anyone. His music moved away from his early death/late speed metal roots, so he could, in short, "sell out" more easily:

Many artists, including Kid Rock, Korn and Red Hot Chili Peppers, got together during the summer of 2001 to auction off personal items with the funds assisting Schuldiner's medical expenses, an effort covered by MTV. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Schuldiner#cite_note-21
Guitar World: Here, Here, Here, and Here

Chuck died a martyr, so BC Rich, Guitar World, Beth Schuldiner, and Jane Schuldiner could profit:
A portion of all proceeds goes directly to the family of Chuck Schuldiner. http://www.bcrich.com/chuckstealth/

Now that you have seen why the motive to revise metal history is motivated by corporate interests, sympathy, and matyrdom, rather than facts, let's take a look at some history:

- Possessed released Death Metal in 1984.
- Morbid Angel was writing before Death formed, and while Mantas was playing. So was Master.
- Sepultura released their death metal material in 1985, and they never listened to Death. They wouldn't have heard Mantas, and they were restricted to the usual Judas Priest, Slayer, etc.

And finally, the fanboys make use of Chuck's martyrdom, so they can cling to a hero and spread lies all at once: Link!

Spare us the melodrama... Chuck lost out to Trey Azagthoth in ability and creativity: Link!

But tell us, would Trey have received MTV-esque attention, had he died?

Also, Metal Archives, the world wide go-to source for metal music, did everyone a favor by telling the truth: Link!

Chuck is a false Messiah. Don't let his mother, fanboys, or any corporations tell you otherwise.
